Overview

The Department of Conservation (DOC) protects and restores nature across Aotearoa.

DOC’s vision is that when nature thrives, all people thrive.

DOC operates through local sites that manage operations, facilities and vehicle fleet.

The Site Support Officer is a new position that provides essential administrative support to site operations and fleet management.

Responsibilities

  • Support the Site Lead and site operations, acting as the main site contact for office and facility issues.

  • Act as the go‑to person for general office management and communications.

  • Ensure DOC pool vehicles at site are fit for purpose and maintained as required (e.g., service, WOFs).

  • Support key site health and safety tasks such as safety/fire drills, site inductions, regular checks and ACC safety audits.

Skills and Experience

  • Experience in administration, facility or fleet management.

  • A detail‑oriented problem solver with strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.

  • Build relationships and work collaboratively with a range of people.

  • Tech‑savvy and an early adopter of new systems and technologies.

  • Proactive approach and continuous improvement mindset, always looking for more efficient ways to get things done.

Compensation and Benefits

Salary range: $65,070 – $75,981 NZD.

Location: Multiple opportunities across the motu.

Employment type: Full‑time
