Job ID: ******Department: MaintenanceLocation: RotoruaLocated 5 minutes south of Rotorua, Red Stag Timber is a positive and progressive business, which owns and operates Waipa Mill.
The Company is viewed as industry leaders in timber manufacturing, and the site is continually improving with on-going investment in leading edge technology.The Company seeks to recruit a Workshop Fitter/Machinist.
This role will be based in the workshop completing lathe work, milling and fitting and occasional on site fitting.
The successful applicant will assist with the training and development of the Mechanical Apprentices on site as required.
This role is day shift Monday to Friday 7.00am-3.30pm, with occasional overtime and additional hours during plant shutdowns.The successful candidate will ideally have/be:A NZ trade qualification equivalent to NZQA level 4 Mechanical Engineering;A minimum 5 years' experience in a Maintenance fitter or Machinist role;extensive heavy industrial maintenance experience;skills in general machining and repairing sawmill equipment;A team player ;An excellent communication style; andA 'safety first' approach to work.Competitive remuneration is offered to successful candidates with proven skills and knowledge.
