Job description

At ASB, we're all about doing what we can to help our customers accelerate their financial progress by giving them the tools they need to manage their lives and plans for their families and future.

Our products underpin our economy and touch people's lives.

About the role

We have an exciting opening for an Agile Coach to join our Ways of Working team.

The Way of Working team is made up of a group of amazing people, who help iterate and learn through developing mindsets and toolsets.

They are passionate about delivering better, sooner and safer for our customers and our teams and lean into change and transformation.

As an Agile Coach, you'll help us adopt and embed practices to empower our people and enable them to think and work in a modern way.

We prefer practices like agile, scrum, lean and design thinking, but we know that great teams need to be flexible so other practices get used too.

You'll be a culture carrier for our values, enabling collaboration with a variety of people in Tribes and Squads to build capability, grow mindsets, develop an always-learning culture, and drive continuous improvement.

We have a lot on the go in our community, so you'll get to flex a variety of muscles, depending on the needs… some days may be spent coaching or facilitating at a tribe, squad, leadership or individual level, and others may be spent embedding ceremonies, work models, driving behaviour change, or facilitating strategic planning.

You'll also be comfortable working with and influencing a range of stakeholders, from experts in our teams through to senior leaders (like Tribe leads, who might need you to help with advice and influencing practices at an enterprise level).

So if it's variety you're after, this is the perfect role for you.

You'll also get to radiate all the things you love about agile, building capability and role model our values and mindsets.

About you

Ideally, you have experience coaching and leading the development of high performing teams, or teams of teams, in an enterprise environment.

You'll demonstrate knowledge of agile (including SAFe, lean, scrum etc), with skills in coaching and influencing people at different levels of seniority, and facilitating.

You'll be a passionate coach, and inspire a positive culture that promotes evolution, collaboration, openness and psychological safety.

This will help you work across ASB, coach a variety of people at different stages of their career journeys, spot challenges and understand how to unpick roadblocks in a realistic way.

As a starter for success, we'd love some of the following skills and experience

  • Agile, lean, design thinking, and influence and exposure to a variety of roles at the team to Tribe level (teams of teams)
  • Facilitation skills with the ability to approach situations from multiple angles, optimise work practices and drive behaviour change.
  • Working for ASB

In our diverse and inclusive environment our people grow their agile mindset, learn, evolve and utilise their skills, while being empowered to make decisions.

We offer a competitive package and bonus, great banking benefits, heaps of personal and career development opportunities, flexible working and great parental leave benefits.
