Job description

Service Foods Auckland team is seeking dedicated and experienced Store Persons to join our Picking & Loading teams for the night shift.

We have opportunities available for experienced and reliable Store Persons to join  our fast-paced and busy Night Shift Picking & Loading teams  based in Mangere, near Auckland Airport.

As a Store person, you will play a key role in efficiently picking and packing dry, chilled, and frozen food products for customer orders, loading them into the assigned trucks in sequence, while working in a temperature-controlled environment (approximately 9°C).

PPE will be provided

The offer:

  • Full-time permanent role
  • Nick Picking: Work between 5.30 pm to 2.00 am
  • Night Loading: Work between 10.00 pm to 6.30 am
  • Rostered days between Sunday to Friday.

  • Location based in Mangere (near Auckland Airport)
  • Night shift allowance will be paid on top of the base pay.

  • Discounted staff orders, etc.

  • Working for a reputed and established 100% Kiwi-owned company

The role:

Night Picking

  • Accurately pick & pack orders (manual and scan).

  • Achieve a high accuracy rate in picking orders without errors.

  • Coordinating and ensuring that the orders are packed on time.

  • Ensure goods are dispatched accurately as per order requirements
  • Maintaining a neat and tidy workplace at the end of your shift.

  • Heavy lifting up to 20-25 kgs.

  • Wrap pallets and assist in loading and dispatching

Night Loading

  • Loading/ hand-stacking goods into trucks in the assigned sequence.

  • Stacking and wrapping pallets, including empty kegs and crates.

  • Working closely with our drivers to ensure service levels are met and maintained
  • Maintaining a neat and tidy workplace at the end of your shift.

  • Heavy lifting up to 25 kgs.

  • Packaging and dispatching orders.

  • Assist in Filling and replenishment as and when required

The person:

Our ideal candidates will have: 

  • Previous experience in a warehouse or logistics environment.

  • Experience in pick packing & manual loading is an advantage.

  • Must be able to work in varied temperatures (dry, chilled and frozen where temperature can be as low as -20 degree)
  • Physically fit and able to lift goods and heavy food cartons up to 25 kg.

  • Strong attention to detail and time management skills.

  • Basic literacy and numeracy skills (reading, writing, and mathematics) is a must.

  • Scanning and computer skills are advantageous.

  • A self-starter who can work independently with minimal supervision.

  • Be extremely reliable, a proven record of excellent attendance in previous roles.

  • Team player with a positive attitude.

  • Forklift license is advantageous not a must.

  • Must have class 1 full license and reliable transport to the workplace.
