Utilities Operator role at Pan Pac Forest Products Ltd.
As a Utilities Operator you will sit within the Utilities team at Pan Pac, based at our Whirinaki site, 15 minutes north of Napier.
Our Utilities Operators are vital to ensuring our internal customers have a continuous supply of steam and utility services to keep their operations running.
You will be responsible for managing, maintaining, and operating a modern thermal generation plant, a steam turbine, fresh water and wastewater treatment plants and two wood waste boilers.
In your role you will work 12-hour shifts (6 AM – 6 PM & 6 PM – 6 AM) on a 4 days on, 4 days off schedule, giving you a great work-life balance.
Responsibilities
Manage, maintain, and operate a thermal generation plant, a steam turbine, fresh water and wastewater treatment plants and two wood waste boilers.
Ensure continuous supply of steam and utility services to internal customers.
Monitor plant performance, respond to process upsets, and implement improvements to enhance reliability and efficiency.
Work within safety, environmental, and quality standards; participate in incident investigations and risk assessments as required.

About You
You thrive in a team environment and bring the following skills and attributes:
Experience with Boiler Operator and/or Wastewater Treatment plants
Level 4 ENCHEM qualification (or equivalent)
Strong mechanical aptitude
A keen focus on health & safety
Self-motivated with the ability to work independently
A sharp eye for process improvements
Proactive and solutions-focused, with a positive, can-do attitude
Strong ability to follow processes and work efficiently under pressure
