We have a vacancy for a Full time Truck Driver Class 5 to work throughout New Zealand with floating conditions, start and finish will be in Auckland.
You will be required to work minimum 30 hours to maximum 45 hours from Monday-Friday as per roaster shift, may require to work sometime during weekends / Public holiday.
We need someone who is willing to commit to our company and is prepared to take the responsibility and run with it.
Job Duties:
· Drive vehicle combinations to destinations in accordance with regulations and company procedures
· Load and unload truck and trailer either individually or with assistance, with or without mechanical freight handling equipment
· Perform frequent lifting, pulling, pushing and carrying of freight
· Inspect truck for defects and safe operating condition before, during and after trips
· Submit pre-trip Inspections and if required Vehicle Defect reports on truck and trailing equipment before commencing shift
· Ensure that all load documentation required to move with freight is available for inspection and that appropriate paperwork accompanies freight when delivered
· Maintain logbook as per NZ rules and regulations.
· Ability to operate company vehicles in a safe and responsible manner.
· Driving within speed limit of 90km/h and wear seat belt while driving.
· Plan routes and meet delivery schedules.
The applicant should have:
· To be successful you must have at least 1 year of experience in a driving role
· Valid and clean Driver License Class 5
· Dangerous good
· Confident driving and reversing in tight sites
· Manual gear box knowledge.
· Must be physical fit.
· Knowledge of emergency procedures and how to handle hazard conditions.
· You should carry out routine checks of your truck.
· Must be available to work on weekends and public holidays.
· A positive attitude and a great work ethic
· Clean Character Background
Salary can be negotiated as per your proven experience level; it will range from $29 to $35 per hour.
