What you’ll do

As a Senior Transport Planner, you will immerse yourself in the creation of strategic documents that set the direction for Auckland’s evolving transport system.

Your day-to-day activities will involve collaborating closely with colleagues from various disciplines as well as engaging with external partners such as government agencies and consultants.

  • Produce high-quality content for strategic network plans, policies, and bylaws that align with broader policy direction and support integrated transport solutions.

  • Lead or co‑coordinate the development of specific planning initiatives, ensuring all outputs are collaborative, deliverable, and underpinned by robust evidence.

  • Engage proactively with internal teams and external partners—including council bodies, government agencies, and consultants to build consensus around shared transport objectives.

  • Bachelor’s degree in urban planning or related field required; postgraduate qualifications are advantageous.
