The Opportunity

Our Energy and Utilities business is seeking an experienced qualified Transmission Line Mechanic to join our team based in Palmerston North.

Reporting to the Supervisor, you will work across the North Island on the Transpower network.

In the role, you will work on construction and maintenance replacement projects of network equipment and installations.

This is a full-time permanent role, working 40 hours per week, offering $37.00 - $39.00 per hour depending on experience, + overtime and allowances.

Important Skills

  • EWRB Transmission Line Mechanic registration/licence
  • National Certificate in Electrical Supply NZQF Level 4 or equivalent qualification
  • Previous work experience on the Transpower or other high voltage network
  • Current Class 1 driver’s licence (and Class 2 preferred)
  • Sound verbal and written communication skills
  • Physical stamina to carry out manual work, often in trying conditions
