About the Role
The trainee Sonographer role combines part-time work with part-study (Post Graduate Diploma Health Science in Ultrasound), undertaken through the University of Auckland (UoA) across 2 academic years.
There is a requirement for self-directed study in your own time to meet the course requirements, study time within hours will be provided as per the collective agreement.

About the Service
Based at Palmerston North Hospital, you'll be part of a dynamic imaging team serving a diverse community.
Travel to other sites may be required to meet clinical training needs.

About you
You're ready to take the next step in your health career.
You may be a:
* Medical Imaging Technologist, or
* Holder of an undergraduate degree in allied health or biomedical science (clinical experience preferred)
You're also:
* A NZ citizen or permanent resident
* A strong communicator, comfortable in team settings
* Patient-focused, with cultural awareness and empathy
* Resilient, able to balance study and clinical work
* A problem-solver, thriving in fast-paced environments
Note: Successful candidates will need to be eligible to register with the Medical Radiation Technologists Board (MRTB) in the Sonographer Trainee Scope of Practice and complete the 2-year Postgraduate Diploma Health Science within the allocated fixed term period.
