Mo te turanga | About the Role
As a Trainee Line Mechanic, you'll be a key part of our wider Service Delivery Team, helping ensure a reliable electricity supply for our network customers.
Under the guidance of experienced mentors, you'll receive hands-on training in:
Installing power poles and lines
Setting up new equipment
Diagnosing and repairing faults
Working safely at heights using ladders and bucket trucks
Operating a range of vehicles

You're a practical, motivated individual who thrives both independently and in a team.
You bring a positive attitude, a strong work ethic, and a commitment to delivering excellent service—even when responding to faults after hours.
To be successful, you'll need:
To be living locally (within driving distance of our Taumarunui Depot)
NCEA Level 2 in Maths and English (or equivalent skills) and the ability to work toward a Level 4 qualification
A Full Class 1 Driver's Licence (or working towards it)
Physical fitness and confidence working at heights
A strong commitment to Health & Safety
