Paid 10 week Summer Internship Opportunities at The a2 Milk Company

As we continue to grow, we're excited to offer five paid summer internships across our Auckland and Pokeno teams, in the following departments:

  • 1 x Regulatory Affairs Intern (AKL)
  • 1 x Quality Intern (AKL)
  • 1 x Product Development Intern (AKL)
  • 1 x Industrial Engineering Intern (Pokeno)
  • 1 x Food Science Intern (Pokeno)

These internships will give you real-world experience in a fast-moving FMCG business, while supporting exciting and meaningful work in your assigned field.

Each intern will report to a departmental leader and work closely with cross-functional teams to support projects and day-to-day operations.

More specifically, you will be involved in:

For Regulatory:

  • Supporting documentation updates in line with a major regulatory change
  • Assisting with compliance-related research and regulatory submissions
  • Maintaining regulatory databases and tracking requirements

For Quality:

  • Designs/digitalizes the operations reviews and reports
  • Establishes the QA/NPD/Regulatory process map by understanding the processes with the guidance of the QS Auckland Office
  • Assists in the write up of standard procedures and work instructions based on the process map established

For Product Development:

  • Assisting in new product development trials and data analysis
  • Supporting prototype formulation and sample evaluations, sample management
  • Provide support in any product development initiatives and special projects

For Industrial Engineering:

  • Conducting time and motion studies on activities performed by the QA Team and proposing process improvements
  • Establishing a factory process map by understanding the manufacturing activities
  • Assisting in the write-up of standard procedures and work instructions based on the established process map
  • Helping to digitalize the operations reviews and reports in the factory

For Food Science:

  • Assisting in sample preparations for in-process and sensory tests
  • Performing sample sending and documentation
  • Establishing trend analysis to support continuous improvement initiatives

What You Will Bring

  • Current study, or have recently completed study in a relevant field such as Food Science, Food Technology, industrial engineering etc
  • Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
  • A willingness to learn and contribute to team success
  • Analytical thinking and problem-solving ability
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Eligibility to work in New Zealand over the summer
