OverviewTalk Time Ltd is an expanding telecommunications company in NZ and requires telecommunication technicians of all levels.
We are seeking outstanding people to join our team in the fibre field of work for Visionstream and UCG.

Talk Time offers you a variety of employment structures to support your career growth.ResponsibilitiesFibre Splicing, Fibre Blowing, Fibre Hauling.Troubleshoot local and wide area network infrastructure including wireless router.Provide operations support for troubleshooting and optimizing network performance of all terminals including FAT, Network Cabinet, ABFFP and network cabinet.
Familiar with fibre colour codes.Test internal and external fibre cabling for residential and commercial properties.
Install fibre networks.Integration, configuring telecommunication devices.Installation and Programming Optical Network Terminal (ONT).
Installation of network related appliances like servers, routers, switches; configuration and setup of computers using macOS or Windows for Internet, Wi-Fi and fibre installation on residential and commercial properties.Troubleshooting network-related problems; manual TCP/IP setup and DNS and wireless network setup.Fibre splicing on various terminals (FFP, FTP and ONT Cabinets etc.).
Fibre management and maintenance of telecom networks; assisting customers on proper usage of network and services.Installing aerial and underground cables.Qualifications & RequirementsDiploma in IT/Computing and knowledge of networking.Minimum one year experience in telecommunications fibre and IT network.First Aid.NZ Driver Licence (manual).
STMS.Chorus WTC 1 & WTC 3 certificates.White Card (site safety).
Good command of English; fit and healthy; attention to detail with a high standard of quality and pride.Willing to relocate within NZ when needed to satisfy business requirements.MDU/SDU experience.Ability to read telecommunications network framing diagrams, plans, and terminologies.Capable of installing and configuring modem/router/Wi-Fi; integration of existing legacy wiring; installation of network equipment.Installation and maintenance of IFDB, BUDI, RAT FFP and other network equipment.Manual tool use with hands and power tools.Additional InformationInstallation, configuration and setup of UFB broadband network.Testing and verification of faults in the network and fixing it.Running speed tests and Subscriber Line ID (SLID) configuration.Network troubleshooting and equipment monitoring.Capable of using NetConnect jack and Krone punching of CAT6; RJ45.Application & CriteriaAre you willing to relocate for this role?
