The National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC) is a part of the Government Communications Security Bureau (GCSB) | Te Tira Tiaki, providing cyber security services to all New Zealanders.

The role
The Enterprise Information Security Group (EISG) is a part of the NCSC and is responsible for delivering information security strategy, programme and services to the GCSCB and NZSIS.
EISG is seeking to fill one of its most sought-after leadership positions: Technical Director Enterprise Information Security (GCSB CISO).
The Technical Director is responsible for solving some of the most challenging information security problems within the GCSB and NZSIS (the Enterprise).
As an expert in cyber security and a leader that is visible across the Enterprise, the Technical Director has a pivotal role in setting information security culture and deputises for the GCSB CISO as required.
This is a unique opportunity will be an enormously satisfying experience for someone passionate about ensuring good cyber security to enable mission outcomes.
We have a fascinating mission and entirely unique information assets.
The EISG protects those assets and directly supports mission outcomes, while securing technology from both internal and external threats.
The role offers broad responsibility, autonomy, and a high degree of engagement with technology practitioners and senior stakeholders.
The appointment range for this position is $168,953 - $180,217.

Who we're looking for
We're looking for someone who:
Provides thought leadership, with the ability to link strands of information together and evaluate the different aspects and impacts of issues
Enjoys tackling complex problems collaboratively, with a focus on identifying and implementing elegant solutions
Is authentic and values driven, with the ability to foster good stakeholder relationships through consultation and partnership
You will be accountable for:
Ensuring that the information security governance and risk & assurance activities for the Enterprise are well designed, well-articulated, documented and accepted by GCSB and NZSIS stakeholders
Designing, maintaining and managing an effective information security architecture domain model in alignment with the Enterprise information technology architecture
Providing an expert understanding of the state of the information security domains across the GCSB and NZSIS and articulate this to the Senior Leadership Teams
Providing security thought leadership on core information security questions facing the business, and proactively guide and support information security initiatives
Displaying leadership and behaviour that embeds a cyber security culture across GCSB and NZSIS

Before you apply
Working within our unique environment means we have to ensure you're eligible for employment.
You must:
Have been a New Zealand Citizen for at least 10 years
OR
Hold a current NZ Residency Class Visa and ideally have been a citizen of the UK, USA, Canada or Australia for at least 10 years.
Be eligible to obtain a Top Secret Special (TSS) security clearance
Ordinarily, this means you'll have a 15 year checkable background in countries NZSIS Vetting can make meaningful and reliable checks.
