Here at Auckland Council, our leisure centres play a key role in achieving our goal of making Auckland the most active city in the world.
And right now, we’re looking for a Learn to Swim Instructor to join our Pool and Leisure Centre team in the Auckland CBD to help achieve that goal!
This is a fantastic job where you don’t need any formal qualifications or experience to apply – just a passion to work with our diverse community while also making a difference! We'll provide the training you need to succeed in the role.
Day-to-day, you could expect to work on:
We have a permanent part-time position available at our centre.
You will need to be available for shifts on Monday to Thursday afternoons (3:30pm – 6:30pm)andone weekend morning (8:30am – 11:30am).
The shifts are subject to change according to the roster and the needs of the centre, so flexibility is essential.
He kōrero mōu: About you
You will be a great swimmer and instructor, have a love of water, have exceptional customer service skills, and be able to communicate well with members of the public.
Previous experience working with children would be beneficial.
If you do have a recognised swim teacher qualification or previous experience as a Swimming Instructor, that’d be fantastic.
However, we will provide full, comprehensive training that you need to excel in the job.
The training will take place from 22 Sept to 3 October, Monday to Friday, at Auckland CBD and West Wave.
To be considered for this role, you must also be willing to complete First Aid training.
