Duties involve performing a variety of tasks as directed, manual and equipment assisted, to ensure the project is completed to a high standard and according to plan.Key responsibilities include:Carry out manual labour tasks such as lifting, digging, and drillingUse hand tools, power tools, and basic machinery under guidanceAssist with material movements and general site worksFollow all SOPs, toolbox talks, and site instructionsWear and maintain required PPE, and follow all health and safety proceduresReport any hazards, near-misses, or incidentsWork professionally and cooperatively with the team and contractorsFollow all company policies and proceduresOperator:An Operator is responsible for the operation of heavy machinery and construction vehicles on New Energy construction projects.
Duties involve performing a variety of tasks as directed, manual and equipment assisted, to ensure the project is completed to a high standard and according to plan.Key responsibilities include:Operate heavy machinery such as excavators, trenchers, skid steers, and piling rigs safely and competentlyCarry out material movements and machine-assisted tasks to support site worksPerform routine pre-start checks and report any faults or issuesSupport the crew with manual tasks (lifting, digging, assembly, etc.) as neededUse hand and power tools in line with SOPs and safety proceduresFollow instructions, SOPs, and Inspection & Testing ChecklistsParticipate in toolbox talks and contribute to a strong safety cultureWear correct PPE at all times and report any hazards or near-missesBe punctual, clock in/out accurately, and comply with leave and attendance policiesWork as a positive and reliable team member to get the job done safely and efficientlyTeam Leader:The Team Leader is responsible for leading and working alongside a crew of General Hands and Operators to ensure daily targets are met safely, efficiently, and to a high standard.
This role involves task allocation, on-the-tools leadership, quality monitoring, daily reporting, and ensuring compliance with SOPs and project requirements.Key responsibilities include:Lead and work alongside team to meet daily targets safely, efficiently, and to high qualityMotivate team, allocate tasks, and support skills development and cross-trainingMonitor quality, ensure compliance with SOPs, specifications, and checklistsCommunicate progress, issues, and safety concerns promptlyOperate machinery and use construction tools as required within competence and licensingPromote a strong safety culture, ensure proper PPE use, and report hazards or near missesCollaborate professionally with team members, contractors, and managementDesired Skills and ExperienceGeneral Hand:Physically fit and ready for manual labourReliable, punctual, and can follow directionFull NZ Class 1 licenseSite experience and safe work practices (preferred)Operator:Skilled in machinery like excavators, skid steers, trenchersClass 1 & 2 license + relevant tickets (e.g. LUV, EWP)Comfortable assisting with labour tasksProven crew leadership in construction or civil worksStrong communicator with a safety-first mindsetFit and hands-on – lead by example by getting stuck in!
