Team Leader – Building Inspections

We're looking for a Team Leader – Building Inspections who's not only technically strong, but ready to guide others, and committed to building safe, sustainable places for our region to thrive.
Responsibilities
Provide technical direction and oversight across inspections
Support your team's professional development and progression
Lead performance conversations, build engagement, and champion teamwork
Champion our shift toward digital inspection systems
Build strong relationships with builders, designers, and community partners
Qualifications
A Level 6 qualification in a building construction-related field (as required by the Building Act)
6–8 years' experience in building control or a related regulatory role
Proven leadership or mentoring experience — you know how to bring out the best in others
Strong communication, problem-solving, and customer service skills
A genuine commitment to safety, inclusion, and collaboration
