We’re looking for a Team Administrator to join our Māori, Communities and Partnerships (MCP) teams.
In this role, you’ll provide efficient and high-quality administrative support to help with the day-to-day running of a busy team supporting disabled people and working families to thrive.
You’ll also assist with project work across the wider MCP group and may be asked to support other parts of the business during busy periods.
This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys being organised, working with others, and making sure things run smoothly behind the scenes.

To be successful in this role, you will have excellent attention to detail, both written and numerical, and a proactive approach to your work.
We're looking for someone who is highly organised, adaptable, and confident using a range of systems and tools.
You will also have:
• Strong computer and technical skills, with advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and Teams).
Experience with electronic document management systems, payroll, diary management and basic accounts administration is desirable.
• The ability to effectively prioritise and manage a varied workload, meet deadlines, and stay calm under pressure.
• Great relationship-building skills, with the ability to engage professionally at all levels — both within the Ministry and with external stakeholders.
• A team-focused attitude, with the flexibility to support others during busy periods and adapt to changing priorities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, along with sound judgement and political awareness.
• Initiative and problem-solving skills, with a willingness to take ownership of tasks and see them through.
• An understanding of how central government operates — including the role of Parliament, Ministers, and public service agencies — would be an advantage.
• A commitment to inclusion, valuing diversity, and contributing to a positive team culture.
