Are you passionate about anatomical sciences and committed to delivering high-quality education?

We are seeking a dedicated Teaching Technologist to join our Human Anatomy Facility team, supporting the teaching and learning of anatomy through expert technical practice. 

In this hands-on role, you will contribute to the preparation, maintenance, and presentation of human tissue specimens and anatomical models.

You will work closely with academic staff, students, and technical colleagues to ensure the smooth operation of the Human Anatomy Laboratory (HAL), the Medical Sciences Learning Centre (MSLC), and the Plastination Library and Laboratory.

Your responsibilities will include providing technical support for teaching sessions, workshops, and demonstrations, while ensuring all activities are conducted in accordance with relevant legislation and culturally appropriate practices, including tikanga Māori.

You will also help develop new methods and protocols to enhance the educational value of anatomical specimens and maintain laboratory spaces and teaching materials to a high standard.

This is a full-time ( permanent position.

The salary range for this role is $72,000 - $88,900, depending on skills and experience.

We are seeking an individual with a strong passion for anatomical sciences and a commitment to educational excellence.

You will be confident working both independently and collaboratively, with a proactive approach to problem-solving and a keen eye for detail. 

You will have:

  • A Bachelor of Science in Anatomy, Biomedical or Biological Sciences (postgraduate qualifications or teaching experience preferred).
  • 3-5 years of post-training experience in Anatomy, Biological or Biomedical Sciences, ideally with experience in prosectioning and plastination techniques.
  • Proven technical skills and experience supporting teaching activities.
  • Competence in a wide range of laboratory techniques within a tertiary education environment, with a focus on human anatomical techniques.
  • Excellent communication, organisation, and IT skills.
  • A strong commitment to health and safety, compliance, and equity values.
