Overview

Support Worker - Forensic Rehabilitation (Awake night shifts) at IHC Group

Role: Support Worker - Forensic Rehabilitation (Awake night shifts).

Location: Albany, Auckland.

Shifts: Awake nights from 10:45pm to 7:15am, with potential to pick up some day shifts.

Type: Permanent, part-time – around 40 hours per fortnight (4x nights per fortnight).

Responsibilities

  • On night shifts at a secure facility, manage risk and maintain safety throughout the night.

  • Monitor the people we support and assist with individual needs when required.

  • Provide clinical support, vocational opportunities, and life skills programmes as part of a 24/7 rehabilitation service.

  • Life experience with the ability to stay calm and stand strong in challenging situations.

  • Calm nature, resilience, and confidence to work with challenging behaviours.

  • Physically fit and able to perform in high-pressure environments.

  • Open-minded, non-judgmental approach to working with diverse individuals.

  • Comfortable and proficient in using computers and tablets daily.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Full NZ driver’s license or ability to gain this within 6 months.
