Are you fluent in NZ Sign Language and passionate about empowering and making a difference in the lives of individuals with hearing loss?

Our client is looking for a Support Worker to provide compassionate mental health support to deaf and hard of hearing clients.

You will work in the community and foster meaningful connections and relationships with clients by promoting independence, developing living skills, building nurturing relationships, and engaging in enriching activities.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Liaise with management and external service providers
  • Deliver mental health support within your professional scope
  • Coordinate appointments and organise follow-ups
  • Advocate for clients within health settings, ensuring their needs are met
  • Prioritise client safety and wellbeing and address urgent situations with confidence

What you need to be successful

  • You must be fluent in NZ Sign Language
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills is essential
  • Hold a Level 4 Certificate in Health and Wellbeing specialising in Mental Health and Addiction Support
  • Full clean NZ driver's license
  • Passion and ability to build effective relationships with clients and whanau
