Description
As our Sealing Supervisor, you will need to plan, organise, direct and control the activities and operations of Chip Seal Surfacing across our Masterton Region.
This will include the management and supervision of our Sealing Crew to ensure optimal resource management.
Role:You need to have proven previous experience in a supervisory/foreperson role, preferably within the Civil Engineering Industry and have a strong health and safety focus.
You also bring:
Knowledge of sealing specifications and procedures and experienced in the use of bitumen or emulsion (advantageous)Technical experience in the sealing treatment selection, binder application rates and site-specific adjustments.Practical experience with chip sealingThe ability to drive projects and complete within specified time framesHigh standard of workmanshipAbility to influence with demonstrated leadership behaviours that empower others Strong problem-solving skillsWhat you’ll bring to the role:NZ Full Class 1 Licence is a must – Class 2 and WTR beneficialPrior Sealing experience is highly sought after alongside knowledge of aggregates, surfacing (hot mix and chip-sealing) with a technical understanding of these materials and their application.Ability to lead the team in terms of QA and productionProblem solving skills and a can-do attitudeA strong focus on health and safety not only for yourself, your team but also the publicExcellent communications skills both verbal and written and a person who can build long standing relationshipsReliable, honest team player who leads from the frontWorking with the Sealing Manager to programme and execute the current and future workloadTracking of the actual cost vs the target cost estimate.Working with the Sealing Manager to help upskill crew.
