At Te Kaunihera o ngā Roto o Rotorua / Rotorua Lakes Council, we're more than just an organisation; we're a force for good!

We are seeking high-energy individuals to join us for the summer.

Our Work Placement Program will run from November 2025 until February 2026 and is a fantastic opportunity for you to experience what a career in local government could be like!

This is an exciting opportunity to join our Housing, Growth & Partnerships team.

The Housing, Growth & Partnerships team plays a key role in Rotorua’s sustainable growth and development by enabling housing delivery and strengthening our local economy.

We work alongside developers to navigate Council processes, explore opportunities within Council land holdings, and lead the research, planning, and design of economic development strategies.

If successful, you will work within a supportive team gaining hands-on experience and contributing towards various and diverse projects – plus you’ll be lucky enough to learn from some of our best and brightest leaders.

Working for Council means you'll be joining a dedicated team where your individual effort is part of something much bigger - delivering great things for our city and our community.

Ideally, you will be undertaking an undergraduate degree in Resource and Environmental Planning or related field.
