About the role  

As a Software Specialist in Financial Crime - Sanctions, you'll be part of our team that is helping create a world class solution to manage international payments sanctions and work to support our current systems.

Being part of the Engineering Practice at ASB we encourage our teams to work autonomously in an agile way while actively growing their skills and expertise to continuously improve outcomes for our customers.

You'll have the opportunity to get hands-on with some interesting and complex pieces of work that integrate on an enterprise scale, all while being part of a smaller squad that makes their own decisions about how to work through prioritisation - so your voice will be heard, and your opinions valued.

We advocate for T-Shaped teams which will take you through all facets of engineering in any given day.

We are looking for a mix of technical skills to support the following activities:

  • On-going Fircosoft Project systems analysis.

  • Fircosoft Service support as required 
  • Issue resolution as a conduit between the Sanctions Squad system users.

    This an excellent opportunity to learn more about the complex world of international payments and Financial Crime.

    You will build on your knowledge of International Payments, SWIFT and Financial Crime systems to become a go-to person for the for questions and solutions around ASBs Sanctions monitoring.

    We expect you to bring a desire to learn, and a curiosity about how processes work, along with a strong desire to deliver outcomes to our customers.

    You will work collaboratively with our squads and stakeholders to be the voice of engineering and deliver products that delight our customers.

    We are looking for someone who has:

  • A background in Business or Systems Analysis 
  • SWIFT and / or Financial Crime experience 
  • MS Office (intermediate-to-expert in Word and Excel) 
  • ADO 
  • Analytical thinking - logical, and able to use the information in hand to figure out issues and solutions 
  • Great communication skills - able to work with other business units to gather requirements and requests, interpret these, and articulate them clearly to the team 
  • In addition, the following would be an advantage:

  • Ability to construct and run SQL queries 
  • Experience in agile and project delivery 
  • Some previous Microsoft knowledge
