Position Overview

As a software engineer at Navico Group, you will engage in the full software development life cycle, working on requirement gathering, technical development as well as testing and quality assurance.

You will work closely with talented teams, including remote and external partners, to design, create, and support solutions that extend our product development capabilities.

Specifically, you’ll be responsible for IP Camera and computer vision application development that support a wide range of camera peripherals and integrate with non-camera software and sensors.

This role involves working with Navico Group's hardware and Marine OS platform based on Android/ AOSP using modern technologies.

You will be expected to contribute creatively, bringing innovative problem-solving and troubleshooting experience.

Essential Functions:

  • Development of Android-compatible software using Java/Kotlin, C/C++, focusing on IP camera and computer vision technology.

  • Advocate for CI/CD, test automation, and managing technical debt.

  • Review and create technical requirements, best practices, and validation procedures.

  • Contribute to design, specification, development, and testing of software components, working with UX teams.

  • Communicate effectively with a global audience.

  • Discover, evaluate, and implement innovative technologies to maximize development efficiency.

Required Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of software development experience.

  • Bachelor’s degree in software engineering, computer science, or related field.

  • Strong programming skills in C++, Java, and/or Kotlin.

  • Experience with Android and SDK development.

  • Excellent communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with network programming and socket communication.

  • Experience with camera APIs and hardware integration.

  • Knowledge of video streaming protocols and codecs.

  • Understanding of IP networking and security practices.

  • Experience with multithreading and multimedia libraries.

  • Familiarity with development tools like Android Studio, TestRail, Gherkin, Cucumber.

Working Conditions:

  • Hybrid position: 3 days onsite, 2 days remote.
