Join our team as a Software Engineer, in a unique, two-year Rotational Development Program.
This program will accelerate your professional growth, allowing you to rotate through multiple teams and projects to build a broad technical foundation while making a real-world impact.
You will have the opportunity to apply your recently gained knowledge in four different divisions, providing vast opportunities and significant company exposure.
Upon completing the 24-month program, we will facilitate your post-program process, supporting you in finding the best position that suits your skills and aligns with business needs.
This is a full-time, salaried position with benefits.What You'll DoYou will complete four 6-month rotations, gaining hands-on experience with daily tasks and impactful projects.
Rotations could fall in the following areas:Test EngineerDevOps EngineerSystems Software EngineerMachine Learning EngineerResearch and DevelopmentFront-end UX/UI DesignFirmware Software EngineerSoftware Product ManagerYour Characteristics and SkillsBrings curiosity, enthusiasm, and initiative by actively seeking new concepts, technologies, and opportunities, thinking critically, and driving projects forward without waiting for direction.Adapts quickly to changing priorities and challenges, maintaining an open mindset while balancing multiple responsibilities effectively.Demonstrates leadership potential by guiding team efforts to deliver shared outcomes, inviting and respecting different perspectives, and taking accountability for quality results.Operates as a champion for innovation by proactively identifying new and efficient ways to approach work, including exploring and implementing emerging technologies like AI to solve problems and create value.Required Education & ExperienceBS, or MS in Computer Science or Software EngineeringA minimum of one related prior internship or up to three years of relevant professional experience is required.Programming ability in either C++, C#, and scripting ability (Ruby, Bash, Perl, Shell, Python, and/or JavaScript).
Preferred ExperienceRecent leadership experience/involvement in university or elsewhere.Domain related experience or knowledge with computer vision, photogrammetry, 3D modeling, artificial intelligence, signal processing, image recognition, GNSS or similar.Familiarity with the Agile System Development LifecycleFamiliarity with AI-powered developer tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT, or similar) to accelerate tasks such as code generation, debugging, and documentation.Experience using AI to analyze data and improve efficiency, such as automating repetitive tasks or identifying code patterns.Please Note: Only applicants legally entitled to work in New Zealand will be considered.About Your LocationThis role is based at Trimble's New Zealand headquarters in Christchurch, on the Little River Link Cycleway.
