You’ll work at the intersection of engineering and manufacturing, building in-house applications that automate spacecraft testing, production workflows, and integration processes for our Electron launch vehicle.

From avionics testing and vehicle system diagnostics to production floor optimisation, your code will make a direct impact on the success of our missions.

  • Write clean, scalable code and unit tests for new features and bug fixes
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to deliver intuitive, high-impact tools

  • Support Agile workflows: sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives
  • Manage code using Git and maintain clear technical documentation
  • Deploy and support software in a live production environment
  • Provide user training and gather feedback for continuous improvement

You’ll Bring These Qualification & Skills
  • 3+ years of experience in software design, development, and testing, with a strong understanding of best practices
  • Proficiency in Python, C/C++, or TypeScript, with hands-on experience building scalable, maintainable code
  • Confident working across the full stack, particularly with modern front-end frameworks like Angular, React, or Vue
  • Solid experience in Linux-based development environments and working with relational databases and ORMs
  • Familiarity with Git and version control workflows in collaborative team settings
  • A proactive problem-solver with a passion for building high-impact software
  • Comfortable working cross-functionally in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment

These Qualifications Would Be Nice To Have
  • Experience working with production or test automation systems
  • Web application and UI development
  • js and NestJS experience
  • Docker and Kubernetes experience
  • RxJS and observables
  • Embedded systems or hardware-software integration
  • Jira, CI/CD tools, and Agile development methodologies

Apply now and take your next giant leap with Rocket Lab.
What To Expect
We’re on a mission to unlock the potential of space to improve life on Earth, but that’s not an easy task.

It takes hard work, determination, relentless innovation, teamwork, grit, and an unwavering commitment to achieving what others often deem impossible.

Our people out-think, out-work and out-pace.

We pride ourselves on having each other’s backs, checking our egos at the door, and rolling up our sleeves on all tasks big and small.

We thrive under pressure, work to tight deadlines, and our focus is always on how we can deliver, rather than dwelling on the challenges that stand in the way.
