What You Will Do
As an early career Software Engineer within our Geospatial group, you will assist with the development of Trimble Access, the world's leading data collection software for land surveyors and civil engineers.
Our customers build roads, railways, tunnels, bridges, and buildings, they subdivide the land and locate underground utilities.
As part of our Christchurch-based development team, you will be involved in the development of an application that spans radio communications, geodetics, geometry, 3D visualisation, cloud connectivity, and much more.
Development is cross-platform on Windows and Android.
You will work in collaboration with the Product Manager, Applications Specialists, Engineering Manager, and other Software Engineers, both locally and in Trimble facilities worldwide.
Daily, this will have you doing the following:
Development in C++ & C# for a mobile environment
Understanding, analysing, designing, implementing, and testing new features
Analysing, fixing, and testing bugs.
What you'll bring?
Along with being a motivated team player, with strong work prioritisation skills, and a collaborative communication and working style, you will also possess:
BSc.
in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related degree
Demonstrable early career level experience as a software engineer
Experience in applications development, ideally with strong C# & C++ skills
Ability to contribute and add value to this dynamic team environment
A desire to learn, a can-do attitude, and an open mind
Curiosity and willingness to learn
Nice to haves (but not essential):
Android development experience
Knowledge and experience with interactive/real-time application development
Experience or interest in surveying, civil engineering or the geospatial industry .
