The Department of Conservation has recently made some big changes to help our people and operations work better together—so we can achieve the conservation outcomes we’re aiming for.

As part of this, we’ve introduced a new role: Site Support Officer .

Reporting to the Operations Advisor or Regional Planning and Performance Manager, this role plays a key part in delivering essential administrative support to help ensure the efficient and safe functioning of DOC facilities across the region.

The position will be focussed on:

  • Supporting the Site Lead to ensure smooth and safe operation of DOC premises, acting as the main site contact for office and facility issues
  • Being the go-to person for general office management
  • Ensuring DOC pool vehicles at site are fit for purpose and maintained as required (such as services and WOFs etc)
  • Support key site health and safety tasks such as safety/fire drills, site inductions, regular checks and ACC safety audits

Note: This role is 0.5FTE.

Days/Hours to be negotiated between hiring manager and successful candidate.

The salary range for this position is $65,070 - $75,981 (1FTE) with the starting salary of the successful applicant being based on their relevant skills and experience.

Eligibility to work in New Zealand is mandatory – this includes holding a valid work visa that covers the whole period of employment.
