We’re seeking an experienced Site Engineer, specifically within Surfacing works to join us at Fulton Hogan, based out of our Mount Wellington, Auckland yard.
This role includes night shift work and projects based on the North Shore .
Project Scope
The work predominantly covers asphalt surfacing requirements for Auckland, at times we also support work across the North Island, in small to large scale high works including commercial, subdivision, private and industrial developments.
As an engineer you will support in the planning, delivery, and quality assurance of asphalt surfacing operations.
With proven knowledge of surfacing specifications, you will provide technical engineering support on surfacing projects, ensuring compliance with specifications, safety standards, and efficient use of resources on-site.
Responsibilities
- Providing management, coordination, and supervision of assigned asphalt paving works, undertaken by our own staff or subcontractors
- Ensure that all work is performed in accordance with the specifications, contract requirements & compliant safety satandards and closed-out to client specified requirements
- Monitor and allocate resources, material and plant in line with budget
- Ensure environmental risks are identified and controlled through documented processes and apply positive process change and SOP's
- Preparing and implementing work procedures, inspection and test plans and associated QA documentation, safe work method statements, access plans and permits
- Adhere and promote H&S, quality and production monitoring and collation of data, ensuring compliance
- Converting contract documents into work instructions with a focus on effectively communicating requirements to the crews onsite
- Liaising and assisting in the resolution of constructability issues
- Assisting in the planning, subsequent execution, and reporting of the project programme

Qualifications
- Hold a BE in Civil Engineering or related field
- Hold a minimum of 2 years as a Site Engineer working across surfacing projects
- Must have previous experience in an engineering/site-based role pavements, surfacing, or road construction
- Hold a NZ Class 1 NZ driver's licence
- Have good understanding of relevant standards (NZTA surfacing specifications) is ideal
