Rotorua Lakes Council is seeking a Sexton Coordinator to join our dedicated Community Experience team, supporting cemetery and crematorium services that honour families, traditions, and the diverse cultural values of our community.
In this unique and rewarding role, you’ll be the heart of coordination—managing bookings for burials, cremations, ash interments, and chapel services, while ensuring records are meticulously maintained and every detail is handled with care.
You’ll work closely with bereaved families, funeral directors, iwi, and community partners, offering empathetic guidance and respectful support during times of loss.
This is more than an administrative role—it’s a chance to make a lasting difference.
You’ll help uphold the dignity of our cemetery and crematorium services, ensuring they reflect the values of aroha, integrity, and professionalism.
From liaising with internal teams to maintaining facilities and ensuring compliance with health and safety and cultural protocols, your work will help create a space of peace and remembrance for generations.
We’re looking for someone who is:
Experience in cemetery or crematorium management is a bonus, but not essential.
A current First Aid Certificate—or willingness to obtain one—is desirable.
