A Session Facilitator assists parents/caregivers and whanau on session to ensure sessions run smoothly, parents are supported in their role as kaiako and children's needs are catered for, while role modelling Playcentre philosophy and current practices and fostering whanau-led culture, supporting emerging leadership and supporting parents in gaining the skills and tools to become more confident in running sessions themselves.Playcentre Aotearoa is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Session Facilitator to join our well-resourced and vibrant Playcentre Community.
You will work alongside our members and tamariki to guide session activities, facilitate learning using child led play and positive guidance, support planning and assessment for learning and positively support the Playcentre education programme.
You will be a leader who encourages others to thrive; you will model Playcentre philosophy and good practice while supporting whanau to gain confidence to have a go themselves.Position description:Click here to viewStart date:As soon as possibleLocation:Various Playcentre's in the West Auckland area.Days & hours:3-4 hours of morning shifts 4 days each week, during school term time only.
This is a permanent position.We will begin reviewing applications upon receipt and could appoint to this position before the application period has closed.The candidate must have:The Playcentre C3 qualification or the New Zealand Certificate in Early Childhood Education and Care L4 or a higher ECE qualification or a Primary Teaching qualification with the Playcentre Primary Teacher Bridging Award, for licencing purposes.A current First Aid Certificate or be prepared to complete this.Please contact us if you have queries about your qualifications in relation to this role.Desirable skills and experience will include:A passion for Playcentre and our philosophy; Knowledge and understanding of how to apply Te Whariki and a commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi;Great time management and with strong interpersonal and communication skills, and experience at centre level communicating with both tamariki and adults;An ability to support and empower parents, whanau and caregivers in their role as kaiako.A willingness to upskill and meet new Playcentre qualification requirements as required; Confidence when speaking within a group.A passion for supporting Te Reo Maori and tikanga and engaging all whanau to feel a sense of belonging on our session.Applicants for this position should have NZ residency or a valid NZ work visa.Closing date:Position open until filledHow to apply:For further information, a position description or to apply for this role with your CV and Cover Letter, please contact ******.
