The Opportunity In this role, you would work within a dynamic team comprising some of New Zealand's top Electrical Engineering specialists.
You would primarily focus on undertaking a range of challenging projects, requiring familiarity with the New Zealand transmission and distribution systems and an understanding of key relationships between major industry stakeholders.
The role will focus on:
- Project evaluation, scoping, specification, and quoting;
- Engineering solutions for generation aspects of the power system;
- Modelling and analysis of the power system, including techniques such as:
o load-flow and short circuit assessment;
o PV and QV analysis for power system limits;
o dynamic RMS simulations for transient and voltage stability;
o generator control systems modelling, including AVR, PSS, OEL, UEL, and speed governors;
o scripting techniques (e.g., Python) within industry-standard tools like PSS/E and PowerFactory;
o experience with Siemens PSS/E and DIgSILENT PowerFactory for system studies is highly advantageous.
Communicating results and solutions to clients is also a key aspect of this role.
