We’re looking for a Senior Staff Software Developer to join our team in Auckland.
In addition to building reliable systems and easy-to-use interfaces with clean, well-tested code, you will also collaborate closely with peers in technical discussions, code reviews, and architecture decisions, helping to elevate our engineering culture and set a high bar for quality and scalability.
To thrive in this role, you’ll bring strong technical knowledge, a quick ability to learn new technologies, and sharp problem-solving skills.
You’ll be an excellent communicator who works well with stakeholders, collaborates effectively across teams, and supports others through mentorship.
What you’ll be doing:

We're looking for a candidate who has experience with the following:
Principal, Staff or tech lead level of experience as a Software Engineer, in fullstack, frontend or backend capacity, including both successes and failures (“scars”), which help you make better decisionsDeep understanding of modern web application development, tools and techniquesExperience in working on major systems in one or more languages: You have extensive practical experience in either frontend or backend development.
If focused on frontend, you’ve worked with modern frameworks to build user interfaces that consume APIs. If focused on the backend, you’ve designed and built RESTful APIs, integrated with data storage layers.
Regardless of specialisation, you understand core web concepts like HTTP, security principles, and how frontend and backend systems interact in a full-stack architectureYou’ll have had experience of delivering architectural change in one or more large complex systemsWe know that people are more than what’s on their CV.
