This position is responsible for ensuring design solutions align with Health NZ's architectural framework to support strategic objectives, while developing and maintaining security standards and providing expert security consultancy to key stakeholders.
The role requires deep technical expertise in information security technologies applied within an operational context, enhancing the organisation's security posture through rigorous review of system and security architectures, controls, risk assessments, and vulnerability analyses.**About the Team**The Senior Security Specialist is part of the Cyber Security team, reporting to the National Security Technical Assurance Manager within Health New Zealand's wider Digital Services function.
The Cyber Security function within Health NZ is a national capability that ensures the protection of critical health systems, data, and services.
Cyber security has established a robust security function that operates at scale across all of Health New Zealand, providing essential protection against cyber threats.
A stable, consistent approach to cybersecurity is essential to safeguarding patient safety, maintaining public trust, and ensuring the continuity of vital healthcare operations.**About you**You are a cybersecurity professional with strong analytical and technical skills, capable of assessing and interpreting complex security data to identify threats and vulnerabilities.
You have experience working within GRC frameworks, organisational change management, and training.
You can communicate technical information clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Additionally, the following skills and experience will contribute to your success in this role.* A minimum of 8 years' experience in cybersecurity, including at least 2 years in a senior or leadership role, with proven expertise in conducting control and risk assessments within the cybersecurity domain.* Industry recognised certifications such as CISA, CISM, CISSP* Demonstrated understanding of cyber security frameworks and regulations, such as ISO 27001, NIST 800- 53, CMMC, and guidelines such as HISF and NZISM.* A comprehensive understanding of cybersecurity principles, threats and best practices, including the application of Certification and Accreditation process.**Working for Health New Zealand**Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora is ‘the weaving of wellness'.
