We are looking for an experienced and strategic risk professional to lead the delivery of Auckland Council’s risk management activities.

He kōrero mōu: About you

You will be a seasoned risk leader with experience in developing and embedding frameworks and inspiring risk management across large organisations.

You are confident engaging with diverse stakeholders from senior executives and elected members to frontline teams and can translate complex risk concepts into practical action.

With excellent facilitation and communication skills, you’re comfortable coaching others, building capability, and guiding best practice.

You would feel comfortable to use or learn to use basic te reo Māori in your work and have an appreciation for tikanga in a professional setting.

To guide you further we require

  • At least 7 years’ experience in risk management at a senior/intermediate level in a large organisation.

  • Extensive knowledge of AS/NZS ISO 31000 and strong skills with MS Office products.

  • Membership with the Risk Society of NZ, Institute of Internal Auditors, or equivalent body is preferred.

  • A tertiary qualification in Commerce, Law, Engineering or a related field is preferred.

The salary range is between 110,000k to 130,000k, based on skillset and experience.
