Operator to join our team for Te Wai Takamori o Te Awa Kairangi (Te Awa Kairangi).
About the RoleWe’re looking for an experienced Senior Operator to join our team on the Te Awa Kairangi project in Lower Hutt.
This newly created role is hands-on and site-based, requiring a skilled operator who can work safely and efficiently across a range of machinery.
You’ll play a key part in delivering temporary and permanent works while supporting a strong safety and team culture.
Operate excavators, loaders, rollers and other plant safely and competentlySupport daily site operations including lifting and placing loadsParticipate in toolbox talks, safety meetings, and planning sessionsCarry out pre-start checks and routine maintenance on equipmentFollow work plans, JSEAs, and site safety proceduresMaintain tidy work areas and uphold environmental standardsWhat you’ll bring to the roleWe’re after someone who’s confident, capable, and a true team player.
You’ll need to bring solid civil experience to hit the ground running.
Minimum 5 years’ experience operating heavy machinery in constructionWTR endorsement and Class 2 licence (minimum)Proven ability to operate excavators, loaders, and rollersStrong understanding of site safety and hazard managementGood communication skills and a collaborative attitudeAbout Te Awa Kairangi Te Awa Kairangi Alliance is delivering transport, walking and cycling improvements to the SH2 Melling interchange and rail station, as part of a wider flood protection and city revitalisation programme.
Fletcher Construction is working with Alliance partners AECOM, NZTA, Taranaki Whānui and Ngāti Toa Rangatira to deliver this transformative project.
