As a member of ASB's Financial Crime Operations team you will drive operational excellence in the way we help protect ASB and it's customers from the impact of Financial Crime.

You will contribute in a meaningful way to the protection of Aotearoa New Zealand from organised crime, modern slavery, extreme right-wing groups, and other activity which places New Zealand at risk.

We are now looking for a Senior Manager in our Financial Crime Technology, Strategy & Delivery team to be based at North Wharf and join our team on a full-time basis.



Mo te tūranga  |  About the Role:

In this role, you will be primarily responsible for supporting the Head of Financial Crime Technology, Strategy & Delivery with the development and maintenance of long-term plans for excellence in Financial Crime Operations.

You will manage a range of key stakeholders and prepare business cases and supporting material to assist senior leaders assess the performance of, and value delivered by, solutions to validate whether benefits have been achieved.

The outcomes you will be responsible are:

  • Managing key stakeholders to plan and prepare supporting material for executive steering committees, and producing governance packs & material for those sessions
  • Reporting on project budgets to ensure development costs remain in plan and are accurately forecasted during the period
  • Assisting in the development and implementation of commercially viable options to deliver operational efficiency and control enhancement
  • Implementing best practice tools and techniques to deliver operational work volumes efficiently and effectively
  • Supporting the development of long-term strategy plans with senior leaders in Financial Crime Operations
  • This is an exciting opportunity that allows you to work collaboratively with a range of technology, operational, risk and finance stakeholders throughout the obligation.

    It will give you the opportunity to expand your commercial acumen and risk credentials and provide you with frequent opportunities to present in front of senior leaders.

    Working as the Senior Manager Financial Crime Operations, you will need to have strong commercial acumen and excellent verbal & written presentation skills.

    This will require you to produce robust, clear, and detailed decision-making papers to Lead Working Groups and senior stakeholders.

    Along with this, we are ideally looking for someone with the following skills:

  • High attention to detail and experience with financial management and reporting
  • Leadership, negotiation, influencing skills, and an ability to navigate through complexity with an agile mindset
  • Excellent communication & interaction skills (verbal, written, listening & non-verbal)
  • High level of accuracy and an ability to interpret how information fits into a larger context, the details that are important and how to connect abstract opportunities
  • An interest in technology & data, ability to challenge the status quo and self-generation of solutions or ideas
