The Senior Finance Assistant is a cross functional processing-oriented position that works with Finance Assistants and Finance team peers to ensure the timely and accurate processing of information into the Financial Management Information System (FMIS), including invoice processing and payment of suppliers, accounts receivable and collection of outstanding debt from customers.
Having experience in accounts payable and receivable, the Senior Finance Assistant is responsible for managing complex queries and providing support to the Finance Assistants.
The Senior Finance Assistant works in a team reporting to the Finance Manager, in the Open Polytechnic Financial Services team.

At least 3 years' experience an accounts and administrative position with well-developed skills in accounts procedures.
Good interpersonal and oral communication skills, both face to face and in telephone contact.
Excellent written communication skills with the ability to communicate information effectively.
Well-developed word processing, data processing and spread sheeting skills.
Highly developed planning and organisational skills with the ability to successfully manage workflows and prioritise to meet deadlines.
High level of accuracy and meticulous attention to detail.
Skilled in systematic and logical working methods
Confidence in dealing with a wide range of people and commitment to providing high quality service to clients.
Works well both independently and as a team member.
Sound judgement, discretion and diplomacy.
A high level of initiative and self-management skills.
