We are looking for a Senior Desktop Engineer to join our Client Services Team.

You will play a key role in enabling the successful delivery of NZQA's business solutions through an ICT lens.

The Client Services team is part of the Information Services group and is responsible for 1st and 2nd level Service Desk support.

The team is also the custodian of NZQA's device fleet.


Mō tēnei tūranga | About the role
In this role, you will be responsible for:
* Making a valued contribution to NZQA's Modern Workplace strategy, leading the replacement of our SOE image and moving application deployment with Microsoft Intune and Windows AutoPilot, along with implementing a plan for Mobile Device Management.
* Experience with MacOS is desired but not essential.
* Working closely with our Systems team on technologies that intersect the two teams e.g. Azure AD, Windows AutoPilot, Microsoft Intune, Advanced Threat Protection, Privilege Management and Windows Update for Business.
* Working closely with our Architect team to define solutions relating to the end user experience.
* Managing and delivering a fit for purpose end user experience using a range of on-premise and cloud-based tools.
* Being the practice lead for the desktop engineers including device and information security
* Ensuring that all assigned service requests and incidents are resolved professionally and other IS teams are engaged as required, providing customers with a consistent level of service.
* Taking responsibility for the various queues in the desktop space and works with the Client Services Team Leader to ensure SLA's are being met.
* Identifying opportunities to improve the value Client Services delivers and champions them, including identification of recurring issues.
* Documenting instances of hardware failure, repair, installation, removal and keeping asset management processes, procedures and registers up to date.
* Coaching and supporting the development of the Desktop Engineers in the team.
