Job Description
We’re looking for someone who will be responsible for the development, management, and improvement of automated test cases to perform validation of hardware solutions and working side-by-side with Developers, QA Engineers, and Product Owners to ensure clarity of test coverage and value automation brings to overall product quality; striving to ensure that solutions being developed and delivered are as per agreed quality and timeframes.
Primary responsibilities will include:
+ Establish, maintain and extend test automation framework to reduce manual testing scope, improve test efficiency and deliver higher quality of product
+ Work closely with our Hardware/Firmware/Software development teams to plan, design and maintain new and existing features that are suitable for automation
+ Manage, execute and generate detailed test execution report for decision-making
+ Quickly evaluate, understand and creatively solve problems
+ Report any bugs in relevant channels and ensure all releases meet the agreed quality standards and deadlines before release
+ Take ownership of issues and drive them to resolution
+ Communicate clearly to both technical and operational audiences, in writing, by phone/video conference, and in person
+ Apply Agile methodologies to the workflow
+ Apply experience to support automation for hardware & firmware across multiple devices – reviewing and accessing manual test cases that are good candidates for automation and producing automation tests as well as leading test automation requirements with local and remote teams
+ Mentor others to become ongoing contributors of automated test cases in your defined automation test strategy
Experience that would be beneficial for candidates applying for this position:
+ Degree in a related engineering field (or equivalent)
+ At least 7+ years of experience in automating software/firmware and hardware tests
+ Proficient in system testing and validation testing of embedded applications
+ Proficient in Python is essential, C# or other OOP languages are advantages
+ Familiar with bench and field-based GPS & mobile communications testing
+ Strong programming and analytical skills
+ Excellent interpersonal communication skills (written and oral)
+ Ability to work to a schedule and the confidence to highlight any potential problem areas
+ Familiarity with JIRA, Bitbucket, Microsoft Team Foundation Server (TFS) and TestRail
+ A history of working within Scrum teams following Agile methodology
+ Being familiar with OBD, J-Bus and CAN technologies is a benefit
+ Industry certifications such as CQI/IRCA, ISTQB, CSQA, etc.
+ Experience in test automation for mobile applications would be a bonus
