Urgent! Senior Associate/Associate - Litigation Job Opening In Auckland – Now Hiring Tyler Wren

Senior Associate/Associate Litigation

Job description

The Firm

This is a rare opportunity to join a leading international top-tier firm, recognised for its complex, high-value litigation work.

The firm combines the resources and reach of a global practice with a supportive, collaborative culture.

You will work on some of the most significant disputes in New Zealand and across the globe, with clear and structured pathways to advance your career.

The Team

You will join a highly regarded litigation group comprising four Partners (three in Auckland and one in Wellington).

While reporting directly to one Partner, you will also work across the wider partnership on both domestic and international matters.

The team also includes one Senior Associate, two Associates, and two Solicitors.

Their work is particularly active in the FMCG and retail sectors, alongside broader commercial litigation.

The Role

The firm is seeking an Associate or Senior Associate with 3–10 years’ PQE to strengthen its litigation team.

Senior candidates are especially encouraged to apply, as the team has strong demand for individuals who can provide leadership and mentoring to juniors.

You will act on a wide range of high-profile disputes, including:

  • Appeals against regulatory decisions on competition clearance of large-scale mergers
  • Complex multi-party construction disputes
  • Commercial property disputes, including restrictive covenants and caveats
  • Cross-border trade mark enforcement matters
  • Contractual disputes in large-scale commercial agreements
  • Misleading and deceptive conduct claims in the retail and distribution sectors
  • Insurance litigation, including remediation programmes and high-value recoveries

Given the international nature of the client base, some matters may require flexibility with time zones.

About You

  • New Zealand or Australian qualified lawyer
  • 3–10 years’ PQE in litigation, ideally gained at a top-tier or reputable firm
  • Strong academic record (minimum B+ average)
  • Exceptional drafting and research skills
  • Writing sample required for candidates with under 4 years’ PQE
  • Commercially astute, ambitious, and motivated to excel

What’s on Offer

  • Competitive global salary and benefits package
  • Exposure to high-value international disputes for major clients
  • Clear and structured career progression pathways
  • A supportive and collegiate team environment with mentoring and development opportunities
  • The chance to be part of a global firm while based in Auckland
