Job Description

About the Role
The Senior Analyst plays a key role in the Performance, Monitoring, and Reporting team, providing analytical expertise to evaluate and report on the Hauora Māori Service's performance.
They lead or support outcomes analysis, operationalise analytics in collaboration with Principal and Senior Advisors, and generate insights that inform strategic decisions and improve service delivery.
The role also involves close collaboration with Principal Analysts and Advisors to ensure robust performance monitoring and reporting across the service.
About the Team/Service/ Location
As the Hauora Māori Service of Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora (Health NZ) our core role is to ensure New Zealanders have better and more timely access to health care.
The devolution of resources and decision making to the regions ensures those closest to service users and whānau are involved in decisions on how healthcare is delivered.
We are committed to ensuring our operating model is responsive to the needs of Māori.
About you
You bring strong analytical and critical thinking skills, with proven experience in data analysis, performance reporting, or evaluating health outcomes.
You're confident working in collaborative environments and skilled at interpreting and communicating complex data to diverse audiences.
You also have a solid understanding of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and its application within the health sector.
You will have:
* 5-7 years of relevant experience, particularly in the performance, monitoring & reporting fields
* Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to draft key governance materials
* Strong knowledge and practical experience in applying Mātauranga Māori and Kaupapa Māori approaches
* Proven analytical and problem-solving skills, with experience in the health sector considered an advantage
