Lead a busy Christchurch venue! Manage HR & COGS, guide the team, and ensure smooth operations in a modern Asian-inspired setting.

About the Role:

We’re looking for an experienced Restaurant Manager to lead the team at a busy, modern Asian-inspired venue in the heart of Christchurch.

The restaurant has a lively, stylish atmosphere, think bold flavours, crafted cocktails, and service that’s both relaxed and polished.

This is a hands on role where you’ll lead by example, balancing daily operations with team leadership, cost control, and system improvement.

If you’re someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys creating structure while keeping the vibe upbeat, this could be your next move.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Leading the day-to-day operations, setting the tone, managing the team, and keeping service sharp.
  • Building strong communication between front and back of house.
  • Owning COGS, wage control, and budgets (and knowing how to use those numbers to improve).
  • Handling HR responsibilities like onboarding, performance chats, and creating a great team culture.
  • Reviewing and improving systems so things run smoother, faster, and smarter.
  • Making sure every guest walks out happy, and comes back for more.

What we’re looking for:

  • 3+ years’ experience in a restaurant leadership role.
  • Confidence managing both people and performance, you know how to motivate a team and handle challenges head-on.
  • Solid understanding of costs, rosters, and reporting.
  • A natural communicator, someone who connects easily with both guests and staff.
  • Calm under pressure, hands-on in service, and proactive in problem-solving.
  • Bilingual skills are a plus.
