Job Description

Oaks Auckland Hotel is looking for a full-time Restaurant and Bar Manager to lead the team, our vibrant on-site restaurant and bar.

We’re looking for someone who thrives in a fast-paced hospitality environment and is passionate about creating memorable dining experiences for every guest.

You’ll play a hands-on leadership role overseeing daily operations, staff performance, and guest satisfaction, while driving the restaurant’s promotional activity and ensuring consistent service excellence.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Manage daily restaurant and bar operations, ensuring smooth service and exceptional guest experiences.
  • Lead, train, and mentor the team to deliver consistent quality and uphold brand standards.
  • Plan and execute promotional activities, to drive engagement and revenue.
  • Monitor and manage stock levels, budgets, and supplier relationships.
  • Ensure compliance with all licensing, health, safety, and hygiene regulations.
  • Work collaboratively with the Hotel Manager and wider hotel team to enhance the overall guest offering.
  • Perform Duty Manager responsibilities as required.

Shift Details (subject to change):

  • Monday to Sunday rotating roster
  • Split shifts may be required during the week on an ad hoc basis

Qualifications

Successful candidates will have:

  • Previous experience in restaurant and/or bar management, ideally within a hotel or similar environment.
  • A completed LCQ or Manager’s Certificate (or willingness to obtain).
  • Strong leadership skills with a passion for staff development and team culture.
  • Proven ability to manage budgets, rosters, and operational systems effectively.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a guest-first approach.
  • Flexibility to work weekends, public holidays, and split shifts as rostered.
