    We are seeking a Casual Resource worker - Domestic Support for the Auckland region to provide support services.

    The work you do will vary depending on the needs at the time but could include the following:


  • Significant part of the role is home cleaning and domestic work, supporting live-in caregivers to maintain a clean and safe living environment for tamariki and rangatahi.
  • Assisting with transport for tamariki to education, therapy, or health appointments as required.
  • Supporting live-in caregivers with day to day running of the household, this may include running errands or grocery shopping.
  • Supporting the home with establishing routines and enabling tamariki to settle into their new surroundings.

    Tamariki can be infants right up to adolescents.
  • Predominantly weekday work, with some flexibility to support occasional weekend shifts when live-in caregivers are accessing respite.

  • Empathy, patience and ability to see through behaviours, to acknowledge what someone might be struggling with.
  • Experience working with tamariki and/or youth with varied needs.
  • A clean, current, full driver's license; and confidence driving a van.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills and the ability to adapt to your audience.
  • Flexibility in working different hours and days at short notice.
  • Open and adaptable to an environment that is always changing.
  • Have a calm and professional manner.
  • Excellent listening, oral, written and observation skills.
  • Understanding and appreciation of cross-cultural practices, in particular, knowledge of tikanga Māori, and Pasifika culture.
