Research Fellow (Terahertz Spectroscopy and Quantum Sensing)The National University of Singapore is seeking a highly motivated and talented Research Fellow to join our group.
The successful candidate will work on advanced projects at the intersection of condensed matter physics, terahertz (THz) spectroscopy, and quantum device engineering.The position offers the opportunity to develop and explore new experimental platforms for probing correlated quantum materials and advancing quantum sensing technologies.Job RequirementsDevice Fabrication & CharacterizationFabricate and characterize high-quality quantum material devices with precise control over structure and electronic propertiesConduct low-temperature electrical and optical experiments in cryogenic environmentsExperimental Research & DevelopmentDevelop hybrid measurement platforms integrating THz spectroscopy with transport techniquesPerform systematic studies of electronic, optical, and superconducting phenomena in low-dimensional systemsQuantum Sensing ApplicationsExplore novel approaches to quantum sensing across multiple platforms, including electronic, photonic, and hybrid devicesInvestigate strategies for high-sensitivity detection and control at cryogenic and room temperaturesCollaboration & DisseminationCollaborate with internal and external partners in physics, materials science, and engineeringPublish research outcomes in high-impact journals and present findings at international conferencesQualificationsPhD in Condensed Matter Physics, Electrical Engineering, Applied Physics, or a related disciplineStrong background in at least one of the following areas: 2D materials and van der Waals heterostructuresLow-temperature transport or optical spectroscopyTHz technology and instrumentationSuperconducting devices and quantum measurement techniquesHands-on experience with nanofabrication, cryogenics, and sensitive measurement platforms is highly desirableExcellent written and oral communication skills in EnglishStrong motivation for interdisciplinary research, teamwork, and independent problem-solvingThe National University of Singapore is the national research university of Singapore, founded in ****.
