As the first point of contact for patients,whānau, and visitors, you'll play a vital role in ensuring people receiveefficient and appropriate access to health services.
This role also supportsthe smooth running of clinics and wider Health New Zealand services in theregion.As part of the Administration and Clerical Pay Equity Claimsettlement this role has been mapped to National Band 3/Profile 3For further information about the administration andclerical pay equity settlement please follow the link below:**What you'll be doing*** Providing a warm, professional welcome to patients and visitors, both in-person and over the phone* Managing the enrolment process, ensuring patient information is accurate and up to date* Supporting financial processes, including receipting payments, invoicing, balancing, and banking* Assisting with clinic administration including appointment bookings, scanning, filing, and correspondence* Maintaining tidy and welcoming waiting areas, supporting patients in distress, and assisting clinical staff as needed* Supporting the smooth daily operation of the clinic and reception, including rostering cover and ordering supplies* Upholding patient confidentiality and ensuring cultural sensitivity in all interactions**About you****Essential*** A positive, professional attitude with strong interpersonal skills* Excellent customer service and communication skills* Strong time management, problem-solving, and organisational abilities* Ability to prioritise workloads, work independently, and use initiative* Commitment to cultural safety and an understanding of Te Tiriti o Waitangi principles* Experience in customer service or administration* Proficiency with Microsoft Office and confidence learning new systems* Clean driver's licence**Desirable*** Previous experience in a health setting* Knowledge of medical terminology and patient management systems* Familiarity with hospital systems such as Indici, SAP, or Health Connect South**Working at Health New Zealand**Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora is dedicated to ensuringexcellent healthcare for the people of New Zealand.
