We have a great opportunity for a highly experienced Quantity Surveyor to join our team as we continue to grow in the delivery of our commercial high rise, hotel and residential subdivisions for fitouts, hotel refurbishments and the construction of high end stand-alone and terraced housing projects on our land developments.

Reporting to the Residential Marketing and Development Manager, this role will see you responsible for assisting team members in the delivery of cost management services and projects, from planning to completion in line with contractual and company requirements.

  • Assist in the delivery of cost management services and projects from planning to completion in line with contractual and company requirements.

About you

To be successful in your application you must have a minimum of 4-6 years’ experience as a Quantity Surveyor for Commercial fitouts, Hotel refurbishments (or main contractor doing residential projects), Residential Housing, and ideally experience in civil subdivision developments in New Zealand.

Qualifications and experience

  • Bachelor of Building Science in Quantity Surveying or similar qualification
  • Sound knowledge of NZ Building Codes - particularly NZS3604 and NZS3915 head conditions of contract
  • Demonstrated experience in NZ Building & Construction industry
  • Theoretical knowledge of cost management methods
  • Contract administration experience specifically NZS3915
  • Both pre and post contract knowledge
  • Proven ability to prepare preliminary project budgets for approval, issue and evaluate tenders to reach fixed price contracts per project, creating project programmes (Microsoft Project or similar)
  • Demonstrated experience monitoring project program and budgets live and reporting accordingly
  • Experience in build-up elemental estimates on refurbishment projects and creating accurate schedule of quantities
  • Experience in all aspects of financial reporting, including progress and final invoicing on projects
  • Experience in resolution of contractual claims and settlement of contracts
  • Be confident with NZ building methods and products
  • Experience working on commercial fit outs, hotel refurbishments, civil subdivisions and residential build projects
  • Strong delivery of project budgets and cost-to-complete reports during project life cycle, maintenance of financial controls and monitoring of costs against budget
  • Support the team with the preparation, monitoring and management of budgets
