We have an exciting opportunity for someone to join our team in the position of Quality Lab Technician.
In this role you will be responsible for verifying daily quality operational practices to ensure compliance with food safety standards, while also supporting the continuous improvement of Jack Link's quality systems by identifying opportunities for operational enhancements and leveraging data analysis to drive value and efficiency.
This is a full time permanent role where working hours will be from Monday to Friday 10am to 6.30pm.
However some flexibility will be required to work some Saturday or evening work from time to time.
How You will Contribute to our Team:
In this role, you will collaborate closely with Sanitation and Operations Team Leaders to enhance the effectiveness of quality systems, reduce waste, and support continuous improvement initiatives.
You will be responsible for reviewing and optimising processes, generating value-adding reports for quality and lab teams.
Specific Responsibilities include:
Verify hygiene practices meeting the requirements of the company Risk Management Program in all areas of operation.
Apply relevant corrective and preventive actions, and ensuring compliance with Risk Management and Food Safety Quality Programs.
Initiate corrective actions and follow up with any food safety breaches identified.
Calibrate and maintain lab equipment and monitor and conduct swabbing for environmental hygiene monitoring.
Complete CCP and Quality checks and verifications
Ensure plant is compliant with existing documented standards.
Review and report on sanitation trends and performance to Quality Manager
Responsible for once a month Pre-op verification (night shift)
Ensure accurate and timely reporting, and uphold health and safety standards by reporting incidents and promoting best practices.
What Skills and Experience you will require:
Tertiary qualification in food science
Experience in similar role
Good knowledge of GMP requirements
Knowledge of Microbiological and basis analytical lab skills (Desirable)
Good level of computer literacy
Strong written and oral communication skills
Excellent time management and prioritisation skills
Ability to work closely with internal stakeholders
