Job description

Wellington Water is seeking an experienced Project Manager - Transition to spearhead the complex water reform transition work, supporting the successful establishment of the new Metro Water entity.

This pivotal role ensures Wellington Water's contribution sets Metro Water up for success from day one.
What you'll do
As the PM Transition you will collaborate with diverse internal teams and external partners to deliver seamless project execution, clear governance reporting, and strong stakeholder relationships across a multi-faceted programme.
Additionally, you will:
* lead end-to-end project management of the Transition work programme, ensuring deliverables meet time, cost, quality, and safety standards
* manage resources, coordinate workstream leads, and facilitate collaboration across multiple stakeholders
* deliver timely, accurate reporting to governance groups and the Executive Leadership Team
* champion stakeholder engagement and maintain strong, collaborative relationships internally and externally
* drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance project delivery and team processes.
About you:
To thrive in this role, you'll bring the following:
* Relevant tertiary qualification or equivalent experience
* Project management certification (PMP, PRINCE2, Agile) and experience in local government or utilities sectors are highly desirable
* Proven track record managing complex projects/programmes with multiple workstreams
* Strong skills in project management methodologies, risk, budgeting, scheduling, and reporting
* Excellent communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder management skills
* Ability to navigate political and community engagement environments
